Meet ISPA's 2017 Global Fellowship Program participant Kim Simpson!
Kim Simpson is a Glasgow based independent producer working across performance. Currently working with All or Nothing Aerial Dance Theatre, Kim also recently curated the engagement programme for Tramway's Unlimited Festival, a festival of extraordinary work by disabled artists, which included a programme of workshops, artworks, installation, blog, conversations and a symposium to contextualise and communicate the themes and ideas of the festival and the work presented. Previous projects, clients and artists include The Work Room membership body for independent dance artists, Superational, a digital tool for crowdsourcing, crowdfunding and publishing new work, All Eyes Wide live art collective, Festivals Edinburgh, the strategic umbrella body for the 12 major Edinburgh Festivals and Sonica, Cryptic's sonic art festival for the visually minded.
Kim's producing project, Shift, was set up in 2011 to explore the relationship between local and global, inter and cross disciplinary working and diversity and inclusion. Through Shift Kim also runs Tea and Cake, a discussion serious for the exploration of culture, politics, economics and society.
