Meet ISPA's 2017 Global Fellowship Program participant E-Jan Tan!

E-Jan Tan

Malaysia

Founder/ Creative Producer, Toccata Studio

E-Jan Tan is a passionate creative producer based in Kuala Lumpur. Co-founder of Toccata Studio, a performing arts production collective, affiliated to a creative development lab, Space.Toccata. E-Jan’s productions are multidisciplinary and boundary-pushing; RE:RevoEvo, a live improvisational audio-visual performance inspired by cycling. In 2014, RevoEvo was brought to the United Kingdom and performed as part of the SEA Arts Festival of London. Intertwined (2013) is a multi-disciplinary performance featuring dance, music and set design. These three elements interact, influence and move amongst themselves, creating a compelling contemporary performance about the tenuous relations among people. 2015 saw E-Jan into the future: she has produced a multidisciplinary performance titled ‘2020’ that discusses change and being agents of change via the concept of time travel. 2020 is a five-year project and offers its audience a new way of accessing experience in the brave new world of contemporary, futuristic art. In 2015, E-Jan was invited to cultural seminar hosted by Ministry of Culture France in Paris and Nantes and IETM Satellite meeting in Gwangju and Seoul, South Korea. She was a participant of Artist Residency programme with Ricca Ricca Festa in Okinawa, Japan. Early 2016, E-Jan has participated as a selected fellow in the ISPA program held in New York City, United States. She is also a member of Asian Producers Platform.
