Meet ISPA's 2018 Global Fellowship Program participant Martin Inthamoussú!

Martin Inthamoussú


General Director, SODRE

Martin Inthamoussú is an Uruguayan director and performing arts manager. He holds a BA in Theater Studies from the University of Manchester, UK, a PGE in Arts Education, a PGE in Communication Strategies and an MA in Communication and Culture.

He has received the danceWEB Europe Scholarship in Austria sponsored by UNESCO Uruguay and the Dutch Performing Arts Funds. He was a resident choreographer at the SIWIC Scholarship in Switzerland (2005). He has been invited as a resident artist at the Djerassi Arts Program in the United States (2006) and Theater im Ballsaal in Germany (2008 and 2010). He is the winner of the Fund for Artistic Creation awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture in Uruguay in the period 2012-2014. He has been a resident choreographer at the American Dance Festival in the United States in 2014. He has been director of the International Dance Festival in Montevideo for six consecutive years.

He has published in dance magazines in Uruguay and Venezuela and he published a book on dance methodology in 2010.

He is the founder of the Contemporary Dance Conservatory of the National Dance School in Uruguay and works on the academic contents of the National Dance School in all its divisions.

He is currently the General Director of the National Arts Schools in Uruguay runs his own company based in Montevideo.
