Zeyba Rahman

Committee Co-Chair

Senior Program Officer, Building Bridges ProgramDoris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art, USA

Zeyba joined the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art in 2013 as senior program officer for the Building Bridges Program. Rahman manages the Building Bridges Program’s national grant making to support projects that advance relationships, increase understanding and reduce bias between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.  

Before joining the foundation, Rahman led internationally and nationally recognized projects to promote understanding between diverse communities. Her roles included: director, Asia and North America, Fes Festival of World Sacred Music in Morocco; curator, BAM’s Mic Check Hip Hop; creative consultant, Public Programs, Metropolitan Museum of Art’; chief curator, World Nomads Morocco Festival; project director, NEAs' Global Cultural Connections; and senior advisor, Muslim Voices Festival. She is the advisor to Artworks for Freedom and on the nominating committee of the Civitella Foundation in Italy. Twice honored by New York City’s government, Rahman is the subject of two television profiles as a global arts leader.

Piotr Turkiewicz

Head of International Development & Programming / Artistic Director, National Forum of Music/Jazztopad Festival, Poland

Piotr has been the head of international development and programming (jazz, world music, dance) of the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, Poland since 2015. Furthermore, in 2008 Piotr Turkiewicz was appointed the Artistic Director of the Jazztopad Festival. Since 2015, every June,  the festival has it’s annual satellite edition in New York. Before that Piotr was the head of the music management of the International Festival Wratislavia Cantans. 

As a member and one of the co-founders he has been involved in the European initiatives supporting young composers and musicians called Music Masters on Air (MusMa) as well as JazzPlaysEurope, Take Five: Europe and Melting Pot. Piotr is an educated musician (cello). He graduated in English Philology as well as in Journalism. Since 2014 Piotr has been the vice president of Europe Jazz Network.
