Shubert Organization (United States)

D S Moynihan began her career in 1980 in the PR/Marketing Department of Circle Repertory Company. She then worked at Ensemble Studio Theatre, first as Marketing Associate, later Literary Manager. In 1988 she joined the Shubert Foundation as Program Assistant and was subsequently promoted to Program Director. In 1996 she moved to the Shubert Organization to establish a department devoted to looking for material for the Organization to produce, invest in and book into its theatres. In 2006 she was named Vice President - Creative Projects. She is now involved in both the artistic and business aspects of Shubert productions. She has an M.A. in Drama and a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from New York University. She taught at Sarah Lawrence College for five years and is currently an Adjunct Professor in Columbia University’s MFA Theatre Program. She is a former Assistant Editor of The Drama Review and has written articles, essays and criticism for several publications.
