Arts Researcher, Lecturer, & Blogger

Diane is a part-time doctoral candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she lectured from 2011-2015 in the cultural economics and sociology programs. Recently, she was visiting guest artist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she designed and taught a course on aesthetics and beauty to undergraduate business majors. Before moving to Europe, Diane was a program officer for theater and dance grants at The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in NYC, managing director at On the Boards (Seattle), and executive director of a destination music festival in Idaho. Prior work also includes stints at the Sundance and Seattle film festivals, WOMAD USA, and Bumbershoot. She consults with arts foundations and groups, gives workshops, and facilitates/documents conferences. She is a frequent panelist, provocateur, or keynote speaker at arts conferences around the world and has contributed articles to several publications. She writes a well-read arts blog called Jumper, which is published on ArtsJournal.com.
