Two times every year international arts leaders convene in one location to exchange and develop ideas, strengthen and nurture relationships, and rejuvenate their passion for the arts. ISPA Congresses link individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, disciplines, sectors and aesthetics with the common goal of celebrating their interconnectedness and advancing the field of the performing arts on a global scale.
Since our founding in 1949, ISPA has been bringing together international arts leaders at the Annual Congress typically held in New York City. The Annual Congress attracts over 300 delegates from every region of the world. Past Congress themes include:
For over 20 years, ISPA has been holding International Congresses across the globe. Each year, a selected city hosts the International Congress and a diverse group of delegates learn about local artists, and explore topics, venues, and histories relating to the region’s artistic past and future.
