Awards Policy & Procedures
AWARD CATEGORIES
The International Society of Performing Arts (ISPA) has four categories
of award.
FREQUENCY
AND LOCATION OF AWARDS

December/January
Congress
Normally all four awards (Distinguished Artist, International Citation
of Merit, Patrick Hayes, and Angel) are presented at
the ISPA formal Awards dinner. Congress committees have the option
not to award
the
Citation of Merit and/or Angel award. Every effort
should be made to honor an ISPA member with the Patrick Hayes Award.

June
Congress
It is necessary only to award a Distinguished Artist award. Congress
committees have the option to add Citation of Merit
and/or Angel award.
THE PROCESS
From
nomination to presentation
-
January Congress
-
Nomination
forms are sent (via email) to the entire ISPA membership before
each January Congress.
-
Congress Chair
will have the Awards issue on Programme planning agenda for inclusion
of Congress
committee
ideas, suggestions
and input.
-
ISPA to collate
nominations.
-
Nominating committee
review and ratify slate with Congress committee Chair and
ISPA executive
office.

ISPA Executive
Committee confirms slate.

June Congress
Award nominations are made directly by the local Congress Host
committee or individual member recommendations
directly to the Congress Chair, who forwards all nominations and recommendations
to ISPA
head
office. All nominations and recommendations to be reviewed
by the ISPA Nominating
committee. ISPA Executive Committee
will ratify slate.

It is mandatory
that the individual or organization attend the function to receive
the award

It is the responsibility
of the Congress committees to choose ISPA
members to prepare
and make presentation speeches.

It is the responsibility
of the Congress committees to organize local protocol, in association
with ISPA.

It is the responsibility
of Congress chair to maximize (with ISPA CEO) the P.R opportunities
these awards offer for ISPA through press releases and communication.
