Dear Members, We have been very busy in the last few months and have a lot of exciting news to share, so without further delayÉ We're Moving Downtown! As a member service, we will now be able to offer meeting space as well as internet access and for that matter a place to drop your bags when you arrive in New York! If you are planning a trip be sure to let us know and plan to schedule a visit. If you are now a member in New York area, be sure to drop by and see the new offices. For the first few months are phone, fax and mail will be forwarded but be sure to note our new contact information.
Ubuntu Revisited Plans continue to progress for this year's June Congress in Durban, South Africa. There are currently 130 registrants and the number grows daily. In addition to the much talked about Awards Dinner at the Tala Game Reserve, the opening night will feature a gala with local entertainment and a key note address. The sessions include discussions on cross-cultural collaborations, non-traditional venues and funding the arts Ð all led by a series of both local and international experts. Our hosts continue to develop a schedule that will certainly provoke, challenge and inform not to mention entertain, with a strong line-up of local performances infusing the program. National Performing Arts Conference The Convention and Conference boasts an array of sessions -- cross-disciplinary and medium-specific -- that speak to issues faced by arts leaders today. A sampling of conference sessions for opera professionals include such topics as Electronic Media, Group Sales, 21st Century Marketing Techniques, Making the Case for Education Programs, Leadership Transitions, Capital Campaigns, Creating/Managing Fellowships, Visa Roundtable and Partnerships with Universities.
