Johann Zietsman Named CEO |
|
|
The International Society
of the Performing Arts Board of Directors is pleased to announce the
appointment of Johann Zietsman as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Zietsman
brings a broad scope of experience in arts management to this position (read
his full biography on-line). The board anticipates that Johann will
re-locate from South Africa in time to assume his new responsibilities by
mid-August 2002.
An international competitive search was conducted over a six month period by ISPAs Executive Search Committee. The committee was chaired by Judith Lisi and included Robyn Archer, Elizabeth Bradley, Michael Hardy, Martha Jones, Graham Sheffield, Shelton Stanfill and Brigitte von Welser. The committee reviewed over one hundred applications, and a significant number of short list candidates were non- North American. Final interviews were held in New York at the end of May, and a recommendation of Mr. Zietsman was proposed to the ISPA Board of Directors at the Lucerne International Congress in June. At that time, Mr. Zietsman was unanimously appointed. "As ISPA Chair, I would like to acknowledge the in-depth work of the search committee under Judith Lisis leadership," said board chair Elizabeth Bradley. "We are very excited by this appointment. Johann brings a singular perspective to the role of arts leadership, in combination with an exceptionally strong management background. We believe we have found the CEO who will enable the goals outlined in our strategic plan and take ISPA strongly forward." |
