Director of Development - Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia is seeking a Director of Development.

The Development Director's responsibilities include:

1. The administration and execution of all aspects of our institutional fundraising and development from the following sources:
   
   • Board
     
   • Individuals
     
   • Corporations
     
   • Foundations
     
   • Government
   
   
2. The planning and execution of all donor cultivation/stewardship and fundraising events throughout the season, including the management of the event committee, identifying and soliciting sponsorships, benefactors and patrons.
   
3. Setting and achieving goals for, and managing the budget of our contributed income and expense lines, and special events income and expense lines.
   

• Reporting on fundraising and development progress at meetings of the full Board of Directors
  
• Working collaboratively with all staff members (particularly with the Executive Director, Director of Marketing, Box Office/Subscriptions Manager and Comptroller)
  
• Attending concerts

He/she will report to The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Executive Director.

Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience, either professional or voluntary, raising funds for a non-profit organization; proven experience in the design and management of development programs; a track record of developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, volunteers, staff and donors; excellent verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with a wide range of grant maker databases, and other corporate, foundation, and government fund-raising resources; the ability to give and take direction; and the ability to listen.

A bachelor's degree in a related field is mandatory. This is a full time position. Salary is dependent upon experience.
