The Sultanate of Oman is building a stunning new flexible concert theatre, seating around 1,000, in the capital of Muscat. Due to open in 2010, the House of Musical Arts (HOMA) will be the major arts venue in Oman and the region, home to the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra and the Eastern Band, Oman’s traditional music and dance group. It will present the world’s leading orchestras, theatre, dance and opera companies, gaining an international reputation as a centre of excellence, in addition to developing an active and inclusive program of community and educational events locally.

We are looking for an experienced, inspirational and ambitious chief executive in the arts or cultural industries, who is able to demonstrate:

1. well-developed strategic leadership skills with a proven track record in writing and implementing business plans;
   
2. experience in building and developing teams;
   
3. experience in brand marketing and audience development;
   
4. international contacts in the arts and the ability and knowledge to set the artistic vision for an organisation.
   

   The ability to speak Arabic or knowledge of the Middle Eastern culture will be an advantage.
