Out of the Frame
Artists are working
beyond the traditional frameworks of forms and audience/performer
boundaries.
Tate Modern's epic space reclaimed from
its "non-artistic" origin provides a new arena for artists
seeking to explore new frameworks for their work and their encounters
with the public. The work of Olafur Eliasson in Tate's Turbine Hall
is the extraordinary backdrop for a discussion with Alex Poots (ENO),
Christine Higgins (The Guardian) and Hannah Ringham (Shunt Collective)
who debate the question of the new boundaries between artists, audiences
and spaces.

Education as Catalyst
Sole Oyeleye (poet), Peter Jenkinson (National Director of Creative
Partnerships) and Jillian Barker (Barbican) have strong views about
the power the Education work of arts organisations and artists - it
is a catalyst for creativity, it is no longer on the periphery of the
work of our arts institutions, it reaches diverse audiences and learns
from them, it is a source of genuine inspiration for the artist, the
manager and the participants. And it needs to be led from the top!
