The Interview with Isang Yun is co-developed by Eui Sook Chung and Daniel H. Byun inspired by Isang Yun (1917-1995) and his music. As one of the leading Korean composers in Germany in the twentieth-century, Isang Yun was recognized as a mediator of East Asian and Western musical traditions. This work is about his music, artistic thoughts and dramatic life structured based on his representative works such as Images fuer Floete, Oboe, Violine, und Violoncello (1968), Clarinet Quintet II(1984/85). In particular, this work presents Isang Yun’s interview film and voice recording made back in his living years, along with interactive movements of dancers and projection using 3-dimensional graphics technology. The Interview with Isang Yun is being nominated by Benois De La Danse Award Ceremony for outstanding choreographic achievements and the charity gala which took place on the stage of the Bolsoi Theater on May, 2012.
