The immersive multimedia performance, created for the 30th anniversary of the company, is inspired by virtual sets and characters sourced from the stage performances of Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon. These are not merely documentary recordings of the shows as presented onstage, but rather the actual audio/visual elements folded into their creation and reworked in a particular sequence for this unique context creating a new imaginary environment. The audience penetrate in a space defined by giant projections on all the walls and on six screens, which serve as virtual doors and form a labyrinth both thematically and spatially.
This work, about 23 minutes in length, immerses visitors in a succession of various “states of memory”. The thematic, visual and auditory sequence serve as a kind of poetic, immersive environment, which is in turns stimulating and soothing, putting the audience in the middle of the performance where they can choose to react passively by simply watching, or to actively walk though it discovering many facets of performance.
