“Nufonia Must Fall” Live is a musical and multi-disciplinary performance – an adaptation of Kid Koala’s graphic novel and accompanying soundtrack of the same name. In this live interpretation, directed by KK Barrett (known for his work on Where the Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich, Adaptation), the story is told through the real-time filming of miniature sets and puppets, manipulated before multiple Go Pro cameras and projected on a screen behind the performers. It is live scored on piano, strings and turntables by Kid Koala in collaboration with the Afiara Quartet. Designed for 350-500 capacity theatres, concert halls and galleries, it can be modified to suit a range of venues including outdoor settings. An n interactive exhibit precedes the performance. Workshops and master classes suitable to a range of audiences are also offered to complement the performance. An anniversary addition of “Nufonia Must Fall” – a photographed version of the 350-page book will be released in 2014 and made available at the shows.
