Faust is alone and locked inside a box. He has already been damned. Faust is fleeing, not towards an outside world, but within himself. He is on a quest to recover something urgent: his voice.
Andrea Liberovici has conceived a compelling work of music, visual environment and theatre. A giant mirror frames the music, words and action. Liberovici’s experience in theatre, composition and visual media comes to maturity. On stage, one voice and seven musicians perform a score at the crossroads of live, electronic and recorded music and performance as well as a visual environment, which brings us face to face with the illusions created by our own, contemporary Faust: Faust’s box.
