A Proust Sonata, conceived and directed by Sarah Rothenberg, is a new work of concert-theater inspired by Marcel Proust's masterpiece, In Search of Lost Time. Scored for tenor, two actors, violin, piano and string quartet, Proust's transcendent novel comes to life in 7 musical tableaux. Equal parts concert and theater, created with a Tony Award- winning design team, video, sound collage and projections interweave with live performance to evoke the author's themes of memory, lost childhood, Parisian salons, and the struggle to create art out of life. Music of Fauré, Schumann, Debussy, Chopin, Ravel, Beethoven, Reynaldo Hahn.
