The Niemeyer Center (ISPA Member Organization) will open its doors and welcome its first official visitors beginning August 20, 2010 in Aviles, Spain.  Oscar Niemeyer, the legendary Brazilian architect, has claimed this cultural center as one of his most beloved works.  Critics are already noting that, at the age of 102, Mr. Niemeyer has provided the local community and society at large with an innovative and poetic architectural masterpiece.

Despite the upcoming opening, the Niemeyer Center has been programming activities for the last three years.  In line with the center’s strong commitment to arts education, the center most recently hosted over 600 students from local schools and theatre academies to participate in an inspirational master class lead by Kevin Spacey (Artistic Director, Old Vic Theatre, London).

The Niemeyer Center will be fully operational by the end of 2010.
