Palace of Arts Hosts a Central and East European Regional Performing Arts Conference Print E-mail

Palace of Arts BudapestThe Palace of Arts (long standing ISPA member organization) in Budapest invites you to participate in “Competition or Cooperation?”, a regional Performing Arts Conference on September 23-25, 2010, to explore the cultural streams, trends, expectations and difficulties the Central and East European region has been facing since the political transitions.  The Conference will be an excellent opportunity to meet outstanding lecturers and leading cultural experts, and establish networks with Central and East European performing arts leaders.

The Conference topics will cover the roots and traditions, as well as the future, of the region in light of the developments of the 21st century.  The Keynote speaker of the conference, Professor Dragan Klaic, a recognized European cultural analyst, will speak towards, "Delivering public goods: strategies of distinction, opportunities for cooperation".  The Conference program will also feature two orchestral concerts in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall at the Palace of Arts and an excursion to Szentendre, a charming town on the River Danube that has attracted many artists.
