ISPA MEMBERSHIP: Categories and benefits (as of January 2006)
MASTER MEMBER CATEGORIES:
When an organization joins ISPA, that organization chooses who will be ISPA's principal contact within the organization, or ISPA's Master Member. (Individuals joining ISPA automatically become the Master Member.) The Master Member is the single ISPA representative within their organization, and receives all membership benefits, including listing in the Membership Directory and access to ISPA's website and other online communication, grant programs, and the ability to participate in ISPA governance (Board membership, and voting rights).

5 NEW MEMBER A new member, or previous member re-joining after a minimum of three years since lapsing. As above - depending on category All "Benefits" PLUS: A special New member discount of US$250 off the registration rate for the first Congress attended.
*** Rates are for 2008 and 2009, and are subject to review every two years (except for rates in the "STAR" category. )
OTHER MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
6 AFFILIATE
If an organization already has a Master Member in good standing, but another full-time staff member at the same organization wishes to participate in ISPA, they can obtain a second, or "Affiliate" membership at a reduced membership rate of $275.  An Affiliate Member may not vote at Annual General Meetings, or serve on the Board, but can serve on committees and qualifies for all other membership benefits received by the Master Member.  An organization may have an unlimited number of Affiliate Members.
7 MEMBER OF STAFF
A limited number of verified full-time members of staff at a member organization (as per the "Medium, Large, and Star" categories above) may register for a Congress at the Member of Staff rate (i.e. at the member rate). Employees of the local host organization for June Congresses also qualify for this benefit (maximum ten). Members of staff are not eligible for participation in ISPA committees, governance, listing in the Membership Directory, or to be copied on ISPA correspondence.
8 EMERITUS MEMBER
Members who have been members in good standing for at least ten years, and are now retired (not earning a living through a paid occupation), can apply to the Rye office for Emeritus Member status. Emeritus members will pay 50% of the "Small" annual membership fee, and will attend Congresses at the regular member rate.

9 STUDENT MEMBERS
Verified students can join ISPA at an annual membership fee of $50, and can attend Congresses as student members for a registration fee of $250. They will enjoy the status of Affiliate Members.
10 HONORARY MEMBERS
Honorary membership (and the terms of such membership) may be granted at the Board’s discretion to members, ex-members, and supporters, in recognition for extraordinary service and/or support. Unless decided otherwise, honorary members will have full member benefits, but cannot participate in ISPA governance.

  1. Membership is open to any person or organization who supports the aims of ISPA, and who has an ambition for the development of the performing arts worldwide,
  2. There are five categories of membership:
    • Master Member: when an organization joins ISPA, that organization chooses who will be ISPA’s principal contact within the organization, or ISPA’s Master Member.  (Individuals joining ISPA automatically become the Master Member.) The Master Member is the single ISPA representative within their organization, and receives all membership benefits, including listing in the Membership Directory and access to ISPA’s website and other online communication, grant programs, and the ability to participate in ISPA governance.
    • Affiliate Member: if an organization already has a Master Member in good standing, but another full-time staff member at the same organization wishes to participate ISPA, they can obtain a second, or Affiliate membership at a reduced membership rate.  An Affiliate Member may not vote at Annual General Meetings, or participate in governance, but otherwise receives all other membership benefits received by the Master Member.  An organization may have unlimited number of Affiliate Members.
    • Member of Staff:  Verified full-time members of staff at member organizations in the “Medium” and “Large” categories may register for a Congress under the Member-of-Staff Category (i.e. at the member rate) according to the Master Member’s category benefits (see Application Form above). Members of staff at member organizations are not eligible for participation in ISPA governance, listing in the Membership Directory, or to be copied on ISPA correspondence. A maximum of five Members of staff from the local host of a June Congress may also register under this category.
    • Student Members: Verified students can join ISPA at an annual membership fee of $50, and can attend Congresses as student members for a registration fee of $250. They will enjoy the status of Affiliate Members.
    • Emeritus Members: Members who have been members in good standing for at least ten years, and are now retired (not earning a living through a paid occupation), can apply to the Rye office for Emeritus Member status.   3. The period of membership is twelve months from June to May, or from January to December, and includes two Congresses.
