Mexico City
Our host city offers everything you would expect from a world capital, and more:

  • Mexico City has the greatest number of theatres and concert halls after New York and London.
  • There are more museums in Mexico City than any other city in the world.
  • Mexico City had the first printing press and the first university in the Americans.

With a population of more than 20 million, Mexico City is one of the largest capitals in the world. Its rich and complex heritage is part of its vibrating present and challenging future. Few cities in the world have such historical wealth: founded in 1325, Mexico City was the capital of the Aztec Empire. It is the oldest continuously populated city in the western hemisphere.

The nation has close to 105 million inhabitants and more than 30 thousand archeological sites and museums. The performing arts in Mexico are not limited to the formal stage of its many theatres and festivals. Mexico's extraordinarily powerful artistic life is manifest also in the plazas of its small towns, the old neighborhoods in the cities, carnivals, weddings and all sorts of celebrations.

During your stay in Mexico City, you will have the opportunity of choosing among hundreds of museums, shopping malls, craft markets and other exciting places to visit. Mexico City is also renowned for the quality, quantity and diversity of its restaurants, which offer a great variety of experiences of the world's best cuisines.

While in Mexico, you can take the opportunity to visit colonial cities, tropical beaches, present day indigenous communities, archeological sites from a variety of pre-Columbian cultures and the exuberant natural wonders of Mexico's jungles, valleys, mountains, deserts, and coasts on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and the Caribbean Sea.

Please consult with ISPA’s travel agent to arrange your stay in Mexico. We have selected Betanzos Travel as a quality agent to assist all ISPA's participants with their travel arrangements before or after the ISPA Mexico City 2004 Congress. You may contact them at Tel.
