This January ISPA brought 13 Fellows from 13 countries to the New York Congress. It’s impossible to meet all these emerging leaders onsite so we’re highlighting 2014 Fellows in features via Network and the website.

Meet Barbara Poček, Executive Producer at Glej Theatre in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Barbara first learned of ISPA when she pitched the excellent year-long project Silent City at ISPA’s International Congress in Wrocław, Poland in 2013.

When asked about her impressions of ISPA, she says:

“I experienced ISPA as an open, vibrant and welcoming network. It was a priceless opportunity to experience a shift in perspective and see my work and organization from a different angle.”

Barbara’s primary roles at Glej include managing the in-house productions and developing international collaborations and programs. Stand-out projects include the development of a Resident Program for up-in-coming directors, an audience development program “Generation-to-Generation,” designed for teens, and the creation of an international network for small theatres.

Prior to joining Glej she was a freelance collaborator, working in various capacities related to media in arts organizations. These experiences sparked her interest in working on collaborations between various sectors.

“It never ceases to amaze me how both being open to incorporating completely different views and approaching problem solving with wide ranging mind-sets can contribute to most amazing results.”

When asked what she hopes to contribute to the filed she says:

“I see a huge potential in the possibilities of crosspollination between different sectors and disciplines. Building stories and communities around this is what interests me most, and is what I hope to explore and develop more throughout my career.”
