7 New ISPA Board Members Elected

ISPA Board Chair Mary Lou AleskieAt the Annual General Meeting of the International Society for the Performing Arts 7 new members were elected to the 25 strong board of directors. In addition, a number of new officers were appointed including Mary Lou Aleskie as Board Chair for a three year term.  Ms. Aleskie is the Executive Director of the International Festival of Arts and Ideas in New Haven, CT. She is also a Chief Executive Global Fellow of National Arts Strategies and serves on the Arts Advisory Committee of the Yale-China Association. Appointed by the Connecticut State Senate Majority Leader, she serves on the State’s Planning Commission for Higher Education and is an Associate Fellow of Branford College at Yale University. Prior to this appointment on the Board, Ms. Aleskie has served as Treasurer and Audit Committee Chair before assuming the role of Chair-Elect, two years ago.

Other announcements include the appointment of Ian Smith (Creative Scotland) as Treasurer, Maria Claudia Parias (Batuta Foundation, Colombia) as Secretary and Anthony Sargent (Luminato Festival, Canada) as Past Chair.  Newly appointed Board Members include Alicia Adams (Kennedy Center, USA), Luiz Coradazzi (British Council, Brazil), Rebecca Dawson (Candoco Dance, UK), Gaurav Kripalani (Singapore Repertory Theatre, Singapore), Steinunn Ragnarsdóttir (Iceland Opera, Iceland) and Simon Reinink (Concertgebouw, Netherlands).

The 25 board members hail from 14 countries around the globe and represent some of the most significant performing arts organizations in the world. See a complete list of the Board of Directors.

The International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) is a global association of arts management leaders, who come together with the shared goal of strengthening and developing the arts internationally.  We achieve this by building leadership ability, by recognizing and discussing field-wide trends and new developments, and by deepening global exchange through the arts.
