This fall, Montreal will become a worldwide hub for the performing arts through a set of partnerships between CINARS and key cultural organizations, such as Canadian Arts Presenting Association (CAPACOA), International Artist Managers' Association (IAMA), Via Musica, and more. See below for the full list of the partnerships for CINAR's 2016 edition, November 14-19, 2016.
For the first time this year, CAPACOA (Canadian Arts Presenting Association) will organize its 29th conference at the CINARS Biennale 2016. Through this partnership, presenters will have access to both organization's expertise and resources during a two-day professional development program. To attend these activities, presenters must register and pay a registration fee directly to CAPACOA and thereby benefit from a preferential rate to take part in the CINARS Biennale.
In order to develop the classical music circuit in Canada and across the globe, CINARS is teaming up with IAMA (International Artist Managers' Association) in the wake of the Cultural Crossroads meeting in Toronto prior to the CINARS Biennale, from November 10 to 12. The delegates of each conference will benefit from a preferential rate to attend both. Also, an IAMA workshop and a classical music showcase (Via Musica) will take place during the CINARS Biennale.
Via Musica is a classical music showcase series created after CINARS' partnership with IAMA. This premiere event will take place from November 13 to 16 and will feature more than half-dozen quality showcases of classical music and jazz in different venues across Montreal, a workshop, guided tours of venues, and more.
LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE
From November 13-20, Les Coups de Théâtre festival will present a national and international selection of performances and special events for young audiences. This partnership will give the festival's delegates full access to all the CINARS Biennale's showcases and networking activities. It will also allow the presenters attending the Biennale to benefit from a preferential rate for Les Coups de Théâtre.
Once more, the partnership between CINARS and FOCUS Québec, the showcase of Québécois theatre for young audiences that will take place from November 16 to 18, will give participating presenters access to all the showcases and networking activities of the CINARS Biennale. Also, presenters of performing arts for young audiences registered at the CINARS Biennale will have access to all FOCUS Québec showcases.
FRINGE WORLD CONGRESS
As a result of the participation of certain Fringe World Congress representatives at the 2014 CINARS Biennale, their annual congress will be held in Montreal this year from November 16-18! This partnership will give presenters attending this great gathering a preferential rate to access the CINARS Biennale showcases and networking activities.
LA DANSE SUR LES ROUTES
CINARS is teaming up with La danse sur les routes, a cultural organization that supports and promotes dance across Québec, to help develop touring opportunities for artistic companies. This partnership will give presenters that specialize in dance a preferential rate to access the CINARS Biennale showcases and networking activities.
LE VIVIER has been supporting contemporary composition, experimental music and sound art since 2007. In an effort to help support the circulation and development of new music, CINARS is proud to join this network of 34 ensembles and music organizations that will have a booth in the exhibition hall and be participating in different activities during the Biennale.
