International Society for the Performing Arts
Welcome to Our New Web Site Design!

Based on our first several years of experience with the ISPA web site, and based on the constantly shifting dynamics of the World Wide Web, we have completely redesigned our organization's web site. We hope you like the new streamlined look and site structure. And we hope you find it easier to get the information you need...fast.

The World (Wide Web) Is Flat
The first thing you may notice about the new design is that the metaphor of "Virtual Arts Congress" is gone. Based on web site access statistics, comments, and our own musings about the web, we decided to eliminate the complexity and depth of the Virtual Congress in favor of a much more flat site structure.

You will notice this flat structure from our new home page, where you have direct access to all of the web site's major functions and content, including the member database, the features archive, the keynote addresses, job postings, member web site links, and other resources.

We plan to update the featured items on the home page frequently.

And the Walls Came Down...
The second thing you might notice if you've visited our site before is the lack of password protection. There is no longer a "members only" area and a "guest area" as with the Virtual Congress. The entire Internet community can now search our member database, browse member web site links, and read our features, news, and job postings.

We feel that this new open approach makes the web site easier to use for our members, while it also provides a new international exposure to member organizations.

New Features
Along with the redesign, we have also added some new features, including the Internet Gateway, with hyperlinks to key web resources of use to international arts professionals, and a redesigned jobs board. Of course, you can still find information on ISPA: who we are, what we do, how to join, etc. But the new features add power and flexibility to the site.

Let Us Know What You Think
Like all ISPA projects, the effectiveness and success of our web site depends on the feedback and insights of our worldwide membership. Please take a look around at the new site, and then send us your comments. We will look forward to hearing from you.
