Awards
We
are delighted to announce the ISPA 2004 Awards, which were presented
during our Gala
Awards Dinner at the Plaza Hotel in NY on January 6, 2005:

Angel
Award: Charles Hamlen, founding Director of Classical Action,
in recognition of the extraordinary work he has done to create innovative
partnerships to raise funds for AIDS-related services in the performing
arts through Classical Action, which he founded in 1993.

International
Citation of Merit: Robert Harth (posthumous), ex-Executive and Artistic Director
of Carnegie Hall, in recognition of his legacy
of achievements at the LA Philharmonic, the Aspen Music Festival
and School, and Carnegie Hall.

Patrick
Hayes Award: Shelton g. Stanfill, President and CEO of the
Woodruff Arts Center, for his life-long achievements as a passionate
leader and lover of the arts, and his remarkable abilities to combine
creative and financial successes.

Distinguished
Artist Award: Audra McDonald (soprano) in recognition of her sustained international
excellence
in a wide diversity of genres,
whether it be acting (stage and screen), or singing (classical and “light”).

Extraordinary
Award: Walter Homburger (retired), for his remarkable
career over six decades, during which he shaped the careers of many
top artists as well as the National Ballet of Canada, and the Toronto
Symphony. Mr Homburger joined ISPA 56 years ago when it was founded
in 1948!
