Meet ISPA's 2016 Global Fellowship Program participant Oluwole Oguntokun!
Artistic director, Renegade Theatre
Wole Oguntokun is a playwright, producer and the artistic director of Renegade Theatre, one of Nigeria’s most consistent theatre companies. In August 2013 and 2014, he produced and directed his plays, The Waiting Room and The Tarzan Monologues as Nigeria’s first theatre entries at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2012, Wole led Renegade Theatre as one of 37 international Touring Theatre companies (and the only West African) to the Shakespeare Olympiad organized by the Globe in London, where he directed The Winter’s Tale on the 25th and 26th of May that year. He was consultant to the British Council-Nigeria/National Theatre-London, in the latter’s production of the Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka’s Death and The Horseman on stage at the NT London from April to June 2009. Renegade Theatre has put up productions in some of the best-recognized Arts venues in Nigeria. Additional information may be obtained via its website.
