B. Adams is the Vice President of International
Programming and Dance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
She curated and produced the Center’s
maximum INDIA (2011) and Arabesque (2009), JAPAN! culture + hyperculture (2008)
festivals, and the festival of China (2005), the largest celebration Chinese
arts and culture in American history. Adams also curates the Center’s
Contemporary Dance and the Etcetera Series.
Previously, Adams has worked for
institutions including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater; Belafonte
Enterprises, Inc.; City Center Theater; Harlem School of the Arts; and
International Production Associates. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the
Williamstown Theater Festival (Massachusetts), and the Founding Council of the
Caine Prize for African Writing (U.K.).
Adams holds an M.A. from Columbia
University, a B.S. from New York University, and a certificate in arts
administration from Harvard University’s School of Business Administration.
