Shelton g. Stanfill is Principle and CEO of SgS Ltd., Atlanta,
Georgia, providing advising and executive coaching for cities and arts
centers. Areas of specialization include
new urbanism, cultural advancement, and a methodology for using cultural
institutions to help redefine civic identity and engagement . From 1996 to 2006, he was President and Chief
Executive Officer and Trustee of the Woodruff Arts Center, Atlanta, Georgia
(home of the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, High Museum of Art,
Young Audiences and 14th Street Playhouse).
Other past roles have included President and CEO of The L. A. Music
Center, President and CEO, Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts;
Director, Hopkins Center at Dartmouth College; Director of Cultural
Programming, Colorado State University,; and Director, National Arts Festival,
XII Olympic Winter Games (1972). Mr.
Stanfill serves on multiple boards of directors for tourism, civic development,
film and cultural foundations, and has received numerous awards from
organizations across the country and internationally.
