Los Angeles OperaIn just a quarter-century of existence, the Los Angeles Opera has become the fourth largest opera company in the United States and is now regarded as a company of international stature.  Under the direction of General Director Plácido Domingo and Music Director James Conlon, LA Opera presents innovative productions of the standard repertory as well as new and rarely-staged operas.

The Vice President for Marketing and Communications is responsible for the creation, implementation and oversight of LA Opera’s marketing and communications strategy.  He/She will develop and implement a comprehensive brand and communications strategy in order to increase the visibility of LA Opera and position it as a world-class opera company.  While experience with audience development would be preferred, candidates with appropriate experience in other venues will also be considered.  Experience with marketing strategy and branding is essential.  Experience with print, broadcast and web communications, and media or public relations, is desirable, as is knowledge of reporters at local, regional and national media outlets. An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
