Qaisar Abbas (Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan) is a theater activist working with Punjab Lok Rahs; a Pakistan based non-for-profit theater group established in 1986 to voice for people's rights during the Zia regime. Rahs engages youth and children in theatre and cultural activities to share the vision of a democratic society; having equal economic opportunities for all. Qaisar facilitates his group as a youth trainer, director and actor and coordinates the organization's projects. |
Felipe Arruda (São Paulo, SP, Brazil) Founder and managing director of Faina Moz, an agency specializing in culture, working with businesses, production companies and artists in conceptualizing, planning and managing cultural enterprises with a focus on music. Arruda looks forward to making connections with cultural institutions, music halls, and arts professionals interested in Brazillian contemporary music production. |
Hasna El Badoui (Casablanca, Morocco) is Artistic Director of one of the most famous theatre companies in Morocco, El Badaoui Theatre, which was established in 1952 and is known for its diverse repertoire and actors’ training centre. Hasna is also a drama therapist, actress and director who has an MA in Theatre from Hunter College New York. |
Alison Hart (Becket, MA, USA) is the Individual Support Manager at Jacob’s Pillow. Previously, Alison served as Performing Arts Management Fellow at Texas Performing Arts, and Associate Director at the Bates Dance Festival. Alison completed a master’s degree from the University of Texas’s LBJ School in 2007 specializing in nonprofit management and cultural policy. |
Carole Karemera (Kigali, Rwanda) is a Rwandese actress, director, saxophone player and contemporary dancer who has appeared in more than 39 internationally acclaimed film, theatre, television and dance productions over the last thirteen years. She is the Director of ISHYO Arts Centre (Rwanda) where she initiates innovative projects with both Rwandese and international artists. Karemera is also a script writer and will direct two short films in 2010. |
Antoine Kolokathis (Campinas, SP, Brazil) works as an agent and producer for important brazilian musical performers such as Ivan Vilela (brazilian ten string guitar), Quinteto Villa-Lobos (winds), Duo Paticumpá (percussion) and Juliana Caymmi (singer and composer). Since 1999 Kolokathis has produced projects including classical concert series, opera, contemporary dance shows and theatre for children. |
Zana Hoxha Krasniqi (Prishtina, Kosovo) is the founder and executive director of Artpolis; a Kosovo-based NGO that promotes culture, arts and multiethnic co-existence through social dialogue and the use of theatre. She also founded the “Youth Festival for theater for social changes” held in 2007and 2008. Krasniqi has directed several Theater performances at the National Theater of Kosovo, Theater Dodona and Gjakova City Theater. |
Shu-Chun Lai (Beijing, China) is the executive director of Beijing New Music Ensemble. She received special commendation for receiving the International Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur Award in the 2009 British Council creative economy scheme. A graduate from NYU performing arts administration program, she has worked in NYC, Taipei, and Beijing for opera production, festival programming, and cultural exchange. |
Lucimara Letelier (Rio de Janeiro, SP, Brazil) is the Director of Artefoco, a consulting company with a focus in Fundraising, Marketing and Communications for arts organizations, government and NGOs. Lucimara has held positions at the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, ActionAid, Caixa Cultural Center, Guggenheim Museum (NY), The Children’s Museum (Boston), Arts Bienal and Articultura. She holds a Master in Arts Administration (Boston University, USA). |
Fernanda Lippi (Minas Gerais, Brazil) founded Zikzira Physical Theatre in 1999 and has choreographed all its productions and films. She also curates Zikzira Action Space which brings leading international figures in performing arts and dance film to Brazil. Zikzira Action Space’s “Soliloquium” and “Artist in Residence” give young international artists a springboard. |
Nyatali McFarlane (Jamaica) is an independent cultural programmer/sponsorship matchmaker that brokers creative partnerships and strategic alliances between businesses and the performing arts. She also facilitates cultural exchange visits for dancers interested in deepening understanding and appreciation of Caribbean performing arts culture; and programs performances for international touring productions visiting the Caribbean. |
Vidya Sarangapani (Durham, UK) is a Programme Manager at Kalapremi, a leading south-Asian arts organization based in the North East of England. She has delivered initiatives in the areas of education, disability and socio-cultural inclusion and is involved with Regional Centre of Expertise, North East; a United Nations University recognized activity that aims to develop and deliver Education for Sustainable Development at the local level. |
Paola Sarcina (Rome, Italy) is the President of the Italian non-profit organization Music Theatre International. Since 1994 Paola has worked as a consultant in management and communication for the performing arts. Ms. Sarcina is also a playwright, director, and the General Secretary of the Music Theatre Committee of ITI. She holds a Bachelors degree in “Arts and Musicology” from Tor Vergata University of Rome. |
Caroline Winn (Edinburgh, UK) started her career in music at the underground dance label Soma Records, carrying out a range of responsibilities such as event management, sales and distribution and marketing for almost 5 years before moving into public subsidy at the Scottish Arts Council. She is now Manager of Hebrides Ensemble where she is involved in all aspects of the company’s development. |
Maya Zbib (Beirut, Lebanon) is a theatre/performance artist and a founding member of Zoukak Theatre Company and Cultural Association. She holds an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths, University of London, and is employed as instructor at the Lebanese University. Her work spans between collective research/practice and solo performance layering text, physicality and audio-visual design. |
