2011 Fellowship Recipients

The 2011 Fellowship Program granted thirteen fellowships to the diverse group of emerging leaders listed below.  Learn more about ISPA's Fellowship Program.

Maria Rita ArnautMaria Rita Arnaut (Lisbon, Portugal) is project manager at SPARK, a global arts consulting firm focused on 4 main areas: Audience Development, Fundraising, Communication & Design, and Production & Programming. At SPARK, Rita is responsible for worldwide touring of artists as well as developing new artistic projects and programming them worldwide. She graduated with a degree in Business.
Csilla BiroCsilla Biro (Budapest, Hungary) was a classical musician whose career was terminated due to an illness. She then studied business in Los Angeles, CA and Budapest, Hungary, after which she spent several years as Sponsorship Manager at the prestigious Budapest Festival Orchestra. In 2007, Csilla established Starlet Music Management, an organization dedicated to helping young exceptionally gifted musicians achieve international fame.
Melissa CantwellMelissa Cantwell (Perth, WA, Australia) is a playwright, director and the Artistic Director of Perth Theatre Company. She was previously the company’s Associate Director and Program Manager for The Blue Room Theatre. Melissa and has a Bachelor of Communications (Film) and a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Directing) from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Flavio de AbreuFlavio de Abreu (São Paulo, SP, Brazil) traveled extensively from 2000 to 2005, carrying out market studies in more than 25 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Realizing the potential for Brazilian music and culture abroad, Flavio went back to his home country and founded Scubidu Prods./Scubidu Records, a company focused on good music, young talents, and collaborative thinking to bring Brazilian music to a global audience.
Danielle EvansDannii Evans (London, England, UK) is founder and producer of the independent arts movement OneTaste in London, started in 2004. OneTaste is a music and spoken word collective that supports the best emerging artistic talent in the UK through events, tours, collaborations, recordings, and project development. OneTaste is funded by the Arts Council England and the Performing Rights Society.
Heloisa FischerHeloisa Fischer (Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil), 43, is a journalist, radio announcer and Brazilian cultural entrepreneur. In 1994, she founded VivaMúsica, specializing in journalistic content in the area of classical music. In 2008, she founded the Instituto VivaMúsica!, whose principal mission is to introduce classical music to audiences which do not yet know or consume classical music, especially young audiences.
Alison FriedmanAlison Friedman (Beijing, China) is founder/director of Ping Pong Productions (www.pingpongarts.org) which facilitates cultural exchange and collaboration between Chinese and international performing artists. She came to China almost a decade ago on a Fulbright Fellowship to research modern dance and was a 2009-10 Kennedy Center Arts Management Fellow.
Eric KlugEric Klug (São Paulo, SP, Brazil) has been working in the arts sector for the last thirteen years, mainly with the performing arts (classical and pop music, dance, contemporary circus and theatre) and in a variety of areas, including fundraising, project management, events planning and executive production in Brazil, UK, Portugal and Argentina.
Katerina KoutnaKateřina Koutná (Prague, Czech Republic) began her career with a position in a service organization of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic in 2004. Since 2006, Kateřina has served as Foreign Artists Production Manager and then as Marketing Manager at the Prague Spring Festival. Founded in 1946, it is the most established music festival in the Czech Republic.
Andrew MalmoAndrew Malmo (Aukland, New Zealand) is a producer, production manager and photographer, and is managing director of Strata Creative Limited, a New Zealand based arts management and production company specializing in producing and touring theatre and dance performance. Andrew has extensive production, touring and producing experience in New Zealand and is developing his connections internationally.
Natasha MytnowychNatasha Mytnowych (Toronto, ON, Canada) is the Associate Director of Programming for Canadian Stage, Canada’s largest not-for-profit contemporary theatre company. In addition, she is a director, designer and producer and recently received the Ontario Premier’s Award, and the Toronto Mayor’s Award, for Excellence in the Arts (Emerging Artist).
Maria Claudia Parias

María Claudia Parias (Bogotá D.C., Colombia) is a social communicator and a journalist. She graduated from the University of La Sabana, with a specialization course (University of Rosario) and a Master’s in Cultural Management (University of Barcelona). In July 2008, she became the Director of Bogota’s Philarmonic Orchestra, also taking on the responsibility for the execution of municipal projects on music, dance and performing arts.

Diomar SilveiraDiomar Silveira (Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil) is the Executive Director of the Philharmonic Institute, an organization whose mission is to maintain the Philharmonic Orchestra of Minas Gerais. Created in February 2008, the orchestra has turned into one of the best in Brazil.  With a degree in Economics, Silveira has professional experience in both the private and public sectors, working in social, economic, and cultural fields.
