Eliza Gerner, recipient of the 2010 Distinguished Artist Award at the Zagreb 2010 ISPA Congress, Globalisation and Identity. View other ISPA Award winners. Eliza Gerner (Croatian actress), leading drama actress of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, was born in Sombor. She was one of the rare Croatian (and international) actresses who performed in three languages (Croatian, Hungarian and German) in her career. She was two seasons in the Volkstheater in Rostock and the Moewe Theatre in Berlin. She appeared in Graz, and worked with the Strozzi Drama Ensemble and the Croatian Drama Artists’ Guild Scene, the first Croatian touring companies. In 2010 Eliza Gerner will celebrate her ninetieth birthday and the sixty-third anniversary of her artistic work. |
