Martha “Marty” Jones is currently celebrating her 25th anniversary with the Celebrity Series of Boston, New England’s premier performing arts presenter, where for the last 15 years Marty has served as President and Executive Director.

During her tenure at Celebrity Series, Marty led the organization’s separate non-profit incorporation initiative; expanded its artistic programming in the areas of jazz, contemporary music, ballet and modern dance; procured an 18-year corporate title sponsorship; created new educational initiatives, including partnerships with Boston Public Schools, the New England and Boston Conservatories and Harvard’s Office of the Arts; erased a half million dollar deficit; and raised a $6.5 million endowment.

Prior to Celebrity Series, Marty served 13 years in various artistic, arts management and education positions, including as founding Marketing Director of Boston’s Huntington Theatre Company, Director of Development at the Indiana Repertory Theatre (Indianapolis), Associate Director of Walden Theatre (Louisville, KY), and as instructor in arts management at Boston University, Lesley University, and the University of Rhode Island.

Marty has been a member of ISPA since 1989, serving as Chair from 2006-2008. Other Board/membership affiliations: Women’s Theatre Project (New York); Suzanne Marcus Collins Foundation (Cambridge, MA) Brain/Science Foundation (Boston); Board of Visitors and Overseers at New England and Boston Conservatories; Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Advisory Council; APAP,CMA and Dance/USA.  Awards:  Sojourner Truth Award for Outstanding Commitment to Youth and the Performing Arts in Boston; Women in Development Community Cornerstone Award; Big Sisters Association Women of Achievement Award; Boston Foundation Civic Leadership Award. Marty retires from the Celebrity Series in 2011 to become a full-time consultant in arts management, specializing in organizational assessment, executive leadership, board development, and interim management.
