Meet ISPA's 2018 Global Fellowship Program participant Tafadzwa Muzondo!

Tafadzwa Muzondo

Producer, EDZAI ISU Trust

I am the founder and producer of emerging transformative arts organisation, EDZAI ISU Trust which developed from a community based theatre group to a nationally and internationally recognised registered arts organisation. My latest innovation has been turning a disused formerly filth infested footbridge in Highfield into a vibrant community arts hub called Theatre PA Bridge (the first of its kind in Zimbabwe) which has to date hosted upcoming and established local artists as well as international artists since the clean up and ground breaking in late 2016.

Recently elected the Treasurer of Zimbabwe Theatre Association (ZiTA) in July 2017 after successfully leading the formation of the Association of Community Theatre Artists in Harare (ACTAH), I have close to 10 years management experience in the arts including being a projects manager for Botswana-based Glam-shouts Events & Talent Management and Marketing and Sales Executive for Zimbabwe’s leading arts promotions organisation Rooftop Promotions.

Besides my management experience, I am an award winning actor (Best Actor - National Arts Merit Awards – Zimbabwe - 2009) and have also written, directed and produced internationally acclaimed theatre productions such as “All Systems Out Of Order” (Best Producer Award – April International Theatre Festival – Zambia – 2005), “No Voice No Choice” (banned in Zimbabwe in 2012), “She and He” (multiple award winning United States / Zimbabwe exchange play I co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced), “Washington Junction”, “After Flashbacks and Setbacks”, “Demolishing Democracy” and “I Will So That You Will Not” to mention but a few. .
