DMA in Composition, Moscow Conservatory, Russia. Composer, conductor, pianist, organist, soprano. The winner of All-Union Composition Contest, the Delius International Composition Contest, a recipient of the Goddard Lieberson Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, multiple awards and residencies. Two all-Borzova compact disks include orchestral music (“American Classics” Naxos 2012), recorded by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; chamber music “Pinsk & Blue” (Albany Records 2007), which features two theatrical compositions for tenor and ensemble: "Arabic" solo cantata Majnun Songs (with Arabic dancer) and "Jewish" song cycle Mother Said. Recorded by the Naumburg Award winning Da Capo Chamber Players. Compositions: theatrical fairy tale The Animal That Drank Up Sound (ensemble, narration and choreography; commissioned and toured in U.S. by Tales & Scales), one-act comic opera The Wedding Gift of Pirate Granny, ballet When Reason Sleeps & Wakes: Goya Images.
