  Musical Theater
A Broadway-style musical adaptation of Michel Tremblay’s Les Belles-soeurs, arguably the most produced Canadian play ever. When Germaine Lauzon, a devout 1960’s working-class housewife, wins one million trade-in stamps, she believes it will free her from the life of domestic drudgery she shares with her friends, and a million other ‘helpless wives’. She invites all her ‘sisters’ (friends, neighbors and relatives) over for a stamp-sticking party, but when resentment turns the celebration sour, Germaine must learn that true sovereignty comes from within. From shattering to hilarious, sublime to profane; this toe-tapper has audiences erupting to their feet.
