Call for International Applications for 2018 CROSS Award in Italy

LIS Lab Performing Arts – in collaboration with the Comune di Verbania (Municipality of Verbania) and with the support of MiBACT, the Regione Piemonte (Piedmont Region), Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo (Fondazione Piedmont Live), Fondazione CRT (CRT Foundation) and Ricola – announces the fourth edition of the international CROSS Award for artists and companies in the field of performing arts and music, with particular attention to productions focused on the close interaction between musical composition and action stage.

Three selected projects will be awarded a 15-day residence in Verbania, Italy, with the production fee of €7000 (approx. US$8100) for each project.

CROSS Award is an international award, born in 2014 from an idea by Tommaso Sacchi and aimed at early works in the field of performing arts (dance, theatre, music). The award aims to stimulate the investigation and artistic expression related to the union of different styles and genres, evaluating as a rewarding factors the multi-language practices and the commingling of techniques and codes related to the various performing arts. The aim of the competition is to identify new productions that bring into dialogue the languages of the body and of the stage action with the musical composition.
