Nasrdin Dchar (1978) was awarded a Golden Calf for Best Actor for his role in the film Rabat at the Netherlands Film Festival (2011). He stars in several critically acclaimed feature films like Tirza, Süskind, Wolf, Undercover and The Intruder, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (2014). He can also can be seen in TV series such as The Hunt, Black Tulip and The 12 of Oldenheim.
Nasrdin is both at home on screen as on stage. He performed in several plays with the Ro-theater and is well known for his personal monologues, Oumi, about the remarkable life story of his mother and DAD, about his father and about becoming a father himself. Both solo performances were very well received. He is soon starting to work on his third monologue named YES (original title JA).
Next to acting, Nasrdin is also an active speaker and inspirator. In 2017 he was asked to give two very prestigious lectures. The National Committee for 4 and 5 May invited him to give the Fifth of May Lecture in Haarlem and he was asked for the Martin Luther King lecture by the VU Amsterdam. In addition, Nasrdin is the initiator of IEDER1, a foundation that aims to serve as a platform for the many people that want to embrace diversity and who, together, want to work on a Netherlands in which, despite the differences, unity is paramount.
Currently he is ready to start on some new projects including the One Night Stand-film In Limbo which will be shot in Greece.
