Congress Overview

In the Colombian and Latin American context the performing arts have been closely linked to social and political conflict, leading to the appearance of significant movements, which from an artistic perspective have instigated processes of change. Similarly, the performing arts in Latin America (but also in the rest of today’s world), create motion in individuals, in audiences, redefining borders between cultures, genders, artistic manifestations, thus creating humanitarian links that lead us to consider the performing arts as a greater movement that touches the intimate and the social, that transcends frontiers and that instigates a nobler, more elevated, and more dignified vision of the human being.

These somewhat earlier dates reflect an opportunity to hold the Congress during the renowned Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro de Bogotá! The Bogotá 2014 ISPA Congress, April 7-12, 2014, What the Arts Move, had over 500 delegates from over 35 countries.
