What Are ISPA Congresses?

Twice a year, ISPA Congresses bring together performing arts leaders from across the globe to discover the next great idea, strengthen relationships, and foster connection and exchange.

Who Attends ISPA Congresses?

ISPA congresses are attended by more than 500 leaders from more than 50 regions representing different genres and disciplines within the performing arts field. Programming is geared toward both established and emerging leaders in the performing arts. Congress attendees include presenters, festivals, producing companies, artist managers, consultants, and government cultural leaders.

Why Arts Leaders Attend ISPA Congresses

Exchange and Develop Ideas

Led by a range of industry leaders and experts, explore the congress theme over the course of engaging panel discussions, debates, roundtable conversations, and more. Regional updates examine the changing environments of various global regions and how you might be affected. Delegates have the opportunity to continue the conversation during the numerous networking opportunities.

Strengthen and Nurture Relationships

Delegates socialize and network at the Professional Exchange (ProEx) marketplace, coffee breaks, receptions, and other social events during the congress. New members participate in the Community Building Program to be formally paired with a veteran ISPA member to facilitate introductions.

Commission and Present New Works

Learn about new performing arts projects from the creators themselves! The Pitch New Works session highlights a curated set of projects from across the globe that are recently premiered or still in development. Get involved with these artistic ventures and support them through commission or presentation before they enter the international marketplace.

Upcoming Congresses

Both in New York and with our hosts mid-year, we strive to minimize our carbon footprint through a number of initiatives including eliminating or curtailing the use of any materials that are not recyclable. We encourage delegates to consider ways that they can also travel more sustainably.
