Fellowship Participants![]() Jenny JamisonChief Executive Jenny is Chief Executive at Scottish Ensemble (SE), the UK’s leading professional string orchestra, having stepped up from the General Manager position in August 2018. Leading on an ambitious strategy which will see the organisation through its 50th anniversary in 2019-20, Jenny has been a key part of the organisation’s change and growth over the past 7 years, with experience in strategy, artistic planning, fundraising, production and, especially, in developing music-led cross-artform collaborations. SE’s most successful collaborative project, Goldberg Variations – ternary patterns for insomnia, with Swedish contemporary dance company Andersson Dance, toured to Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Barbican Centre (London) and Shanghai Concert Hall in 2017-18, following multiple performances across Europe. Strengthening SE’s international connections, Jenny also acts as Lead Project Coordinator on a new Creative Europe-funded cooperation, The Bridge, having instigated and led the funding application process. The Bridge will bring together string ensembles from across Europe by establishing a network and festival to harness, develop and champion the innovation that is being driven forward by these small flexible string groups. Transnational planning, networking, and audience development initiatives will help to share best practice and generate new international knowledge-bases. Jenny’s other experience includes strategic consultancy for soloist Nicola Benedetti (developing music education initiatives), and previous roles with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland and as Chair of New Opera in Scotland Events. Jenny has been an ISPA Scottish Fellow since 2017. >>View Jenny's member profile (member sign-in required) ISPA would like to thank Creative Scotland for their support of this important regional initiative. |
