Belinda McElhinney was recently appointed Executive Producer for Take Me Somewhere, Glasgow’s newest festival of contemporary performance. Prior to this she was Executive Producer for Barrowland Ballet from 2012-2018. She recently produced Playful Tiger a work made specifically for children with profound autism that toured public venues. She has also produced Tiger, Tiger Tale, Poggle, Whiteout and Little Red, which have toured extensively within Scotland and internationally. Alongside the touring productions she produced the company’s large-scale participatory inter-generational performance projects, Wolves, The River part of Culture 2014 and Bunty & Doris.

Whilst at Barrowland Ballet in 2012-2013 she completed her MSC in Young People, Social Inclusion and Change. Her research was with the unaccompanied minors in Scotland looking at the sociological and psychological benefits of a participation group. In 2016 Belinda successfully raised funds to deliver a fortnightly participation group for the unaccompanied minors delivering arts and cultural activities. Prior to Barrowland Ballet Belinda worked as Arts and Cultural Development Officer for Scottish Refugee Council, producing Refugee Festival Scotland 2010 and 2011.
