Meet ISPA's 2015 Regional (Canada) Fellowship Program participant Ryan Cunningham!

Native Earth Performing Arts

Ryan Cunningham is Plains Cree/Metis from Edmonton, Albert, Canada. He is the Artistic Director of Native Earth Performing Arts where he curates the Wessagechak Begins to Dance Festival. He is the co-founder and artistic producer of Alberta Aboriginal Performing Arts where he co-curates of The RUBABOO Arts Festival. He is a founding member of The Agokwe Collective and co-producer of the multiple award-winning production; AGOKWE. He is a board member of the national arts service organizations’, IPAA (Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance) and the CanDance Network. Ryan has been working professionally as an actor in TV, Theatre & Film for nearly two decades on stages and screens across Canada; most recently in the all Aboriginal cast of KING LEAR at the National Arts Centre of Canada. Ryan is a series regular on the award winning APTN television series, BLACKSTONE playing the role of Darcy Douglas all 4 seasons. .
