Leeuwarden-Friesland European Capital of Culture 2018 (The Netherlands)
Born and raised in Amsterdam, with Friesian roots. After studying Arts & Policy she worked in Utrecht as production manager for theatre company De Paardenkathedraal, as coordinator of the yearly start of the cultural season ‘Utrecht Uitfeest’ and as creative producer for ‘Treaty of Utrecht’ (cultural programme) organising an IETM Meeting and the community arts programme. From 2008 managing director of the Amsterdam based hiphop dance company Don’t Hit Mama with national theatre tours and international collaborations among wich with Ecole des sables (SE) en Hip-Hop Theater Festival NY (USA). Since 2015 ‘community and diversity’ creative producer for Leeuwarden-Friesland European Capital of Culture 2018 and therefore involved in a.o. Land of Languages, Lost in the Greenhouse, the international theatre programme Strangers on Stage and accessibility for differently abled.
