General Manager and Performance Programmer

Gabriella was born in Athens, Greece. She studied Film and TV Production at the University of Bristol, UK (MA Distinction), Theatre Studies in the University of Athens (BA Hons Distinction), Acting at the Contemporary Theatre of Athens and B/W Photography with Plato Rivellis. She has worked as a producer, director and an actress in short films and has been trained alongside Peter Stein, George Kimoulis, Gerard Depardieu, Ben Ormerod and Jean-Paul Scarpitta in the theatre. In 2002 she co-found the music theatre company The Beggars’ Operas with composer Kharálampos Goyós and set designer Constantinos Zamanis with the intention of mounting modern, low-cost productions of opera and music theatre in unconventional venues. She produced all the performances presented by the company up to 2010 [Kh. Goyós’ Little Red Riding Hood and the (Good) Wolf (Roes Theatre, 2005), G. Verdi’s, Il Trovatore (Bios, 2008-2009) Kh. Goyós’ Damage, an Opera in Seven Meals (Athens Festival, 2008), N. Kypourgos’ Silence, the King Is Listening (Bios, 2009-2010)]. Since November 2008 Gabriella has been appointed general manager and performance programmer at BIOS exploring urban culture, Athens’ centre for today's art and cross media and since early 2013 she has also been managing BIOS’ annex building, Romantso, the first Greek creative industries incubator.
