Allegra Galvin | Speaker


Allegra Galvin is a producer, theatre maker and Director of Quarterhouse in Folkestone, an arts centre sitting at the heart of the Creative Foundation cultural regeneration project. She was the first Programme Director at Parabola Arts Centre in Cheltenham and has worked at The Junction in Cambridge and Battersea Arts Centre in London.  Allegra has a Postgraduate Diploma in Theatre Directing (R.A.D.A.) and a Masters in Architecture (Cambridge University). She continues to write about the design of buildings for performance. She founded MAKE/SHIFT Projects in 2012 with installation artist Kirsty Harris and is currently directing a re-working of The Little Mermaid for autumn 2014. She participated in the Southbank Centre's mentoring group for women in cultural leadership, the Clore Emerging Leaders Course (2012) and Barbican Arts School Lab for artists with cross disciplinary practice (2013).  She was a mentor for Day of the Girl and Women of the World Festival (Southbank Centre 2013).
