Claudia Toni is a distinguished consultant and expert in public arts policy with a long career as manager of cultural institutions. Her credits include positions with the São Paulo Municipal Theater, the Mozarteum Brasileiro, and the Museum of Contemporary Art at the University of São Paulo. As Executive Director of the Orquestra Sinfônica de São Paulo (OSESP), she implemented a pioneering model of public administration for the Brazilian cultural sector.  Subsequently, she became Special Advisor to the Secretariat of Culture at Sao Paulo City Hall and Music Advisor to the Secretariat of Culture at São Paulo State Government, spearheading a major redesign of the State’s Music Education System and leading as Chief-Consultant the project of Luz Cultural Complex.

From 2010 to 2013, she was Chief Consultant for Music and Dance at the Public TV and Radio of São Paulo State (TV Cultura). She is Advisor to the President of University of São Paulo. In 2014, she co-curated the MultiOrchestra International Conference, organized by the British Council in Brasil, and curated the SESC Chamber Music Festival in São Paulo.

Claudia Toni serves on the boards of the Alliance Française in Brasil, Instituto de Cultura Contemporânea (ICCO), and Brasil–Turkish Cultural Center. She served on the board of the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) from 2006 to 2015. In 2010 she was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite National of France.
