ISPA is seeking individuals interested in volunteering for the New York 2018 ISPA Congress, January 9-11, 2018.
Volunteers must be under the age of 30 and should NOT be currently employed full-time in the arts and culture sector. Volunteers must also meet one or more of the following eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled as either a full-time or part-time graduate or undergraduate student at an accredited institution (priority will be given to those studying arts administration or other arts-related field);
- Currently working as an intern, either paid or unpaid, with an arts and culture organization;
- Seeking employment in this sector, with previous experience and/or a degree in an arts-related or events management/tourism field;
Individuals employed full-time by an arts and culture organization, or employed full-time or part-time at an ISPA member organization, are not eligible to apply for this volunteer position.
In return for 15 hours of work prior to and/or during the Congress, your Congress fee for a full pass will be waived. Please note that your volunteer duties will preclude you from attending some sessions and events. Also, unless working the event, the volunteer pass does not include admission to the Opening Reception, Cocktail reception and Closing Party.
Volunteer tasks will include, but are not limited to, working at the registration desk, checking in members, distributing Congress materials, running errands as well as the preparation, set-up, and break-down of the Congress.
All volunteers are required to attend the 45-minute Volunteer Orientation and Training Session on Monday, January 8th, 2018; time tbd.
